Job Description:
The Minister of Religion at BSSN Chapel is responsible for fostering a vibrant and dynamic faith community by building a network of spiritual and social support for believers including those who want to know the LORD. This is a church planter’s role and this involves launching new approaches to gospel ministry, nurturing an open learning culture, and expanding the gospel’s reach. The minister will oversee the chapel’s religious and charitable activities, ensuring they are innovative, inclusive, and aligned with the chapel’s mission.

Key Responsibilities:
Spiritual Leadership
In addition to the above, as a minister of Religion you will lead and inspire the congregation through regular worship services, including innovative Sunday Meet Up services, prayer meetings, and community outreach events.
Prepare and deliver messages that are contained in the Holy Scriptures as well as the HFS International tenets, grounded in gospel teachings while offering fresh perspectives that resonate with a diverse audience.
Administer baptisms, weddings, and funerals, in ways that reflect the chapel's mission and values.
Church Planting and Expansion
Actively engage in church planting efforts, identifying opportunities for establishing new congregations and support networks within the community.
Develop strategies for outreach and evangelism that are culturally relevant and accessible to diverse populations.
Foster a welcoming environment that encourages new members to join and participate in the chapel’s mission.
The Shepherd's Care and Social Support
Provide compassionate care, including spiritual counselling, crisis intervention, and support for individuals and families in need.
Build and maintain a robust social support network within the chapel, connecting members with resources, counselling services, and community assistance programs.
Organize and oversee initiatives that address the social and spiritual needs of the wider community, particularly marginalized and under served groups.
Program Development and Innovation
Design and implement innovative programs that support spiritual growth, community engagement, and social justice, tailored to the unique needs of B Chapel’s congregation.
Explore and integrate new technologies and methodologies to enhance worship experiences and community connections.
Encourage and mentor lay leaders and volunteers to take on active roles in developing and leading new initiatives.
Community Building and Engagement
Actively engage with the local community, building partnerships with other churches, community organizations, and social service providers.
Lead efforts to establish B Chapel as a hub of spiritual and social support, offering programs that strengthen community ties and foster mutual support.
Serve as a bridge between the chapel and the broader community, advocating for social justice and the common good.
Openness to Learning and Innovation
Maintain an open mind and a willingness to learn, continuously seeking new ways to serve the congregation and community.
Participate in ongoing theological education, training programs, and workshops to stay current with new perspectives in ministry and community development.
Encourage a culture of continuous improvement within the chapel, where ideas are shared freely, and innovation is celebrated.
Administrative Leadership
Oversee the administrative functions of BSSN Chapel, including budgeting, compliance, and strategic planning.
Collaborate with the Board of Trustees to ensure the chapel’s operations align with its mission and strategic goals.
Prepare and present reports on the chapel’s activities, financial status, and community impact to stakeholders.
Brand and Mission Alignment
Ensure that all activities and communications align with BSSN Chapel’s mission and brand, reinforcing its identity as a center for spiritual and social support.
Lead efforts to promote BSSN Chapel’s mission through various media, outreach campaigns, and community events.
Uphold the chapel’s commitment to inclusive, innovation, and service in all aspects of its work.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Theology,
Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Divinity, Religious Studies, or a related field (required).
Master’s degree in Theology, Divinity, or Ministry (preferred).
Ordination as a minister within a recognised Church setting (required).
